There is a free, rated chess tournament at the Niles District Library on the first Saturday of every month. I strongly suggest you confirm that the tournament is on before traveling to the site.
Doors open at 10, first round begins at 10:30. The time control is G/30;d0. That's right, no delay. There are 3 or 4 rounds, depending on entries. The tournaments are rated, so US Chess membership is required, as is notation. A $3 discount for US Chess membership is available. Advance entry is not required but is strongly encouraged.
